HubAuto Racing’s Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo returns to the Total 24 Hours of Spa this year with another all-star driver line-up featuring Kamui Kobayashi, Marcos Gomes and 2018 race winner Tom Blomqvist.
It will be HubAuto’s first Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli appearance since February’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hours and second outing at the Belgian endurance classic following its debut last July.
Of the three drivers, only Toyota LMP1 factory ace Kobayashi has no previous history with the Taiwanese squad who claimed Ferrari’s last #IntGTC victory at Laguna Seca in 2019. However, he did previously contest the 24 Hours with Goodsmile Racing in 2017 and has made multiple Formula 1 and FIA WEC appearances at Spa.
Gomes and Blomqvist are no strangers to HubAuto - the latter, who won Spa with Walkenhorst Motorsport two years ago, was part of its Le Mans 24 Hours GTE Am entry earlier this month, while Gomes has previously represented HubAuto in the Intercontinental GT Challenge and Asian Le Mans Series.
“HubAuto are delighted to have Kamui join Tom and Marcos for the Total 24 Hours of Spa,” said team principal and owner Morris Chen. “Kamui brings a wealth of endurance racing experience. Combined with the enduro experience of Tom and Marcos we have a very confident driver line-up.
“We were always impressed by Tom and knew signing him for the two 24-hour races would be the right thing for the team. Marcos always shows his cool and stamina under pressure in endurance events and we are sure he will do a good job for us at the Total 24 Hour of Spa.”
The rescheduled Total 24 Hours of Spa takes place on October 22-25 - three weeks after the Indianapolis 8 Hour hosts round two of this season’s Intercontinental GT Challenge.
