One of Asia’s top Porsche teams, HubAuto Racing, makes its Mount Panorama return this February four years after its last Repco Bathurst 12 Hour appearance.
The one-time Intercontinental GT Challenge race winners ran Ferraris at Bathurst in 2019 and 2020 – the same season in which it won the Asian Le Mans Series.
It has since switched to Porsche with whom it contested last year’s Fanatec GT Asia campaign.
The new 992-spec 911 GT3 R was ineligible to race at Bathurst last season when the previous generation model finished second overall courtesy of Manthey EMA.
HubAuto will confirm its driver line-up at a later date.
“HubAuto Racing's return to Bathurst is more than the racing; it's about our fans in Australia and our determination to conquer the Mount Panorama circuit, said team owner Morris Chen. “We're thrilled to engage with our Aussie supporters again and set our sights on victory with the Porsche 911 GT3R 992. We can't wait to hit the track and show our best performance.”
The team’s technical director and proud Aussie, Phillip Di Fazio, added: “Our experiences at Bathurst have been challenging but we’ve always shown potential. These events have been integral to our growth and resilience as a team. We are constantly analysing our past performances, learning valuable lessons, and our meticulous preparations for this year's race reflect our commitment to overcome the challenges of this legendary circuit.”
The opening round of this year’s IGTC campaign takes place on February 16-18.
