#24hNBR: Race stopped after 7.5 hours due to fog

> Classification at red flag

The 2024 ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nurburgring has been stopped after 7.5 hours due to increasingly dense fog over the Nordschleife.

Organisers will provide another update at 07:00 CEST but the race will not restart until 08:00 at the earliest.

Scherer Sport PHX’s Audi driven by Christopher Mies relieved Dan Harper’s Team RMG BMW of the lead moments before the red flags flew, while Manthey EMA’s Porsche in the hands of Ayhancan Guven lies third one minute further back.

Changing weather conditions, which fluctuated between heavy rain and periods of drier running, meant there was never one single optimal tyre choice.

Earlier, ROWE’s chances suffered a blow when its #99 BMW, driven by Sheldon van der Linde, crashed out of the lead at the Foxhole following contact in traffic. Another pre-race favourite, the #130 GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG, also lost significant time due to contact and a subsequent puncture, while the team’s sister car incurred significant damage just before darkness fell.

Parc ferme rules do not apply during the stoppage, which permits teams to make repairs and service their cars.
