> Result: Pre-Qualifying

Laurin Heinrich led a top four covered by seven hundredths of a second, while 0.8s separated the first 20 cars, in Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS Pre-Qualifying at Indianapolis this morning.

Wright Motorsport’s Porsche lapped in 1m23.387s to beat EBM’s 911 driven by Brendan Leitch by 0.037s who pipped Connor De Phillippi’s Random Vandals BMW by another nine thousandths. That car was also fastest of the five IGTC Pro contenders.

The incredibly close top four was completed by Racers Edge Motorsports Acura driven by Gabby Chaves.

Two more IGTC Pro entries – WRT’s #31 BMW of Dries Vanthoor and Fabian Schiller’s Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG – finished fifth and sixth, while another AMG factory driver – Philip Ellis – finished another 0.006s back.

Qualifying begins at 15:05 EDT before the Pole Shootout, which features the fastest 10 cars, starts shortly after.
