According to reports on sportscar365.com Black Swan Racing will race in the entire Intercontinental GT Challenge season. Tim Pappas and Jeroen Bleekemolen are confirmed in the team’s Porsche 911 GT3 R, becoming the first American team to take part in the entire Intercontinental GT Challenge, which starts with this weekend’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.
Team owner Tim Pappas and Black Swan Racing made their Intercontinental GT Challenge debuts in last year’s California 8 Hours, winning the Pro-Am class and finishing fifth overall. A result which gave David Calvert-Jones fourth in the final drivers’ standings.
A second Porsche was acquired for the new season-long effort, which will see one chassis sent to Belgium for the Total 24 Hours of Spa in July, and the other sea-freighted to Japan for the Suzuka 10 Hours the following month. The team’s line-up for the races at Spa, Suzuka and Laguna Seca is yet to be finalised, but the car will remain in the Pro-Am class at all rounds. This weekend Pappas and Bleekemolen will be joined by German drivers Luca Stolz and Marc Lieb on the #540 Porsche.
Additionally, Tim Pappas will also be one of the favourites for the new Bronze Drivers’ title in the Intercontinental GT Challenge, reserved to the Bronze driver who scores the most points during this year’s Intercontinental GT Challenge.
