Mercedes-AMG has announced its official participation in this year’s Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli.
The German marque joins Audi Sport on the list of confirmed full-season manufacturers, while others are expected to announce their entries in due course.
Mercedes-AMG first joined the globe-trotting series four years ago before narrowly missing out on the Manufacturers’ crown in 2018 and ’19, although Tristan Vautier did claim the Drivers’ title for the Three Pointed Star in 2018.
International travel restrictions have prevented Intercontinental’s traditional season opener from taking place at the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour this February. Instead, the four-round campaign begins much later in the year at the Total 24 Hours of Spa on July 31 - August 1.
Further blue riband endurance events at Suzuka, Indianapolis and Kyalami then follow throughout the second half of 2021.
