Home favourite Pepper joins Inception’s Pro-Am Challenge title tilt at Kyalami

South African GT star Jordan Pepper will join Inception Racing for his home race – the Joburg Kyalami 9 Hour – next weekend (December 2-4).

The 25-year-old returns to Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli’s season finale for a third straight season after previously competing on home soil – and less than 20 minutes from his family home – with Bentley.

Pepper, who was crowned Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS champion this year, finished third overall at Indianapolis with K-Pax Racing and Lamborghini but also contested the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa aboard Inception’s McLaren.

Now he returns to the 720S GT3 in place of the team’s regular Pro driver, Ollie Millroy, who is on paternity leave in the UK.

Co-drivers Brendan Iribe and Kevin Madsen lead the Pro-Am Challenge standings by 18 points from SunEnergy1’s Kenny Habul, Martin Konrad and Mikael Grenier whose Mercedes-AMG also travels to Kyalami.

“I’m really excited to be joining forces with the Inception Racing guys in Kyalami,” said Pepper, who qualified second last December. “It was a last-minute call up, but I’m really excited for the opportunity. However, the chance does come with Ollie not being able to join us due to family commitments.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to help out the team as much as I can, I’m really looking forward to the race itself. Knowing the car and knowing the track really well I think will give us a really good chance to be even more competitive.

“It’ll be great to be reunited with Brendan and Kevin after previously driving with them at Spa, I’m sure we’ll be in for a great result too. The goal is to help Brendan and Kevin win the Pro-Am championship. I know that we’re a strong team, so we’ll do really well and get them that championship win.

“It’s also super exciting to be back on home soil at my home race and third time lucky for me to get a good result, I’m sure we’re going to have a great weekend.”
