Spa moves one month earlier following F1 calendar confirmation

Round three of the 2023 Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli campaign will now take place on June 30 – July 2 following confirmation of a new CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa date.

The event, which celebrates its 75th anniversary next season, is traditionally staged on the final weekend of July. However, and despite SRO Motorsports Group confirming the same slot two months ago, that is no longer possible as a result of the Belgian Grand Prix taking its place.

It means the world’s biggest GT3 race now runs one month earlier than scheduled and closer to IGTC’s opening two rounds at Bathurst and Kyalami, both of which are staged in February.

The rest of 2023’s globe-trotting calendar remains unchanged, although Gulf 12 Hours organisers are yet to reveal the date of next year’s season finale.

PROVISIONAL 2023 CALENDAR
February 3-5 – LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour
February 23-25 – Kyalami 9 Hour
June 30 – July 2 – Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa
October 5-7 – Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS
TBC – Gulf 12 Hours
