During the drivers’ briefing for the Total 24 Hours of Spa Laurens Vanthoor, 2016 Intercontinental GT drivers’ champion, and Audi representative Chris Reinke, 2016 Intercontinental GT manufacturers’ champion, were handed their distinctive trophies.
The remarkable Spa Royal Theatre was the setting for the drivers’ briefing for the 69th edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, second round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. During that drivers’ briefing, last year’s champions of the only global GT3 championship were put in the spotlight when they were handed their eye-catching Intercontinental GT trophies.
Laurens Vanthoor – drivers’ champion – and Audi – manufacturers’ champion and represented by head of Audi Sport Chris Reinke – were happy to collect their trophies after a successful inaugural first season of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
This year’s Intercontinental GT Challenge will have its second round this weekend at the Total 24 Hours of Spa, with the Mazda Raceway California 8 hours in October and the season finale of the Motul Sepang 12 Hours in December.
